Guillermo Lopez-Vila was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1997. He attended public elementary and high school in Connecticut, subsequently graduating with a B.A. in Art History at Boston College. His curriculum focused on Abstract Expressionism and the Modern Western canon. Beyond making art, Guillermo is passionate about spending time in museums, cooking good food, and serving his community. He currently lives in Harlem, New York City.
Guillermo received his first camera when he was eight years-old. He studied photography in college and learned the ability to make the seemingly insignificant seem meaningful. The medium provided a creative path towards psychological solace. Each of his images now is the product of manually processed monochromatic film.
